“Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter” explores the secret life of one of the greatest US presidents, and the untold story that shaped a nation. Visionary filmmakers Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov (director of “Wanted”) bring a fresh and visceral voice to the bloodthirsty lore of the vampire, imagining Lincoln as history’s greatest hunter of the undead.

Based on the mash-up novel by Seth Grahame-Smith of which he also co-wrote the screenplay with Simon Kinberg (best known for his work in “Mr. & Mrs. Smith”), Benjamin Walker stars at the titular character on his quest for bloodthirsty vampires and trying to end a war where only the living can kill the undead. Starring alongside Walker in this vein-thumping film are Rufus Sewell, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Alan Tudyk and Dominic Cooper.

Sacha Baron Cohen Signs Exclusive Deal with Paramount Pictures

“The Dictator” star simultaneously commits to make his next original film for the studio as part of an overall 3-year deal with his four by two films banner

Paramount Pictures, a division of Viacom, Inc., announced today it has signed Sacha Baron Cohen and his Four By Two Films banner to an exclusive 3-year first-look deal. Four By Two Films will be headed by Sir Todd Schulman (THE DICTATOR, BRUNO).
As the star and studio prepare to release the comedian’s latest film THE DICTATOR on May 11th, they simultaneously have agreed to partner again on Baron Cohen’s next original film in which he stars.
As part of the arrangement, Paramount has also created a development fund for Baron Cohen to generate projects in the United Kingdom to find new talent.
“Sacha is a comic genius. A wildly talented writer, actor and filmmaker. Beyond that, he is the rare global comedy star. On behalf of all of us at Paramount, we welcome Sacha and look forward to “The Dictator” and many more great pictures for years to come,” said Brad Grey, Chairman and CEO of Paramount Pictures.
The heroic story of a dictator who risks his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed, THE DICTATOR is opening in the U.S. on May 11, 2012 from Paramount Pictures. Starring Sacha Baron Cohen, Sir Ben Kingsley, and Anna Farris, the film is directed by Larry Charles and produced by Baron Cohen, Alec Berg, Jeff Schaffer, David Mandel and Scott Rudin. The film’s executive producers are long time collaborators Anthony Hines, Dan Mazer and Peter Baynham [ALI G SHOW, BORAT, BRUNO].

Toni Gonzaga Topbills ‘Wansapanataym’ Month-Long Special

Multimedia star Toni Gonzaga is going to teach kids and families different life lessons not once but four times this month as she stars in the first ever month-long special of “Wansapanataym” starting on March 10.

Watch and learn different realizations from different stories as Toni gives life to different characters each week. The multimedia star will impart different values to every family as she takes on the roles of a witch, a guy turned into a woman, and an extraordinary weather girl. Discover the different experiences Toni will embark that will help in shaping the personality of her characters.

American Idol Season 11 Top 13 have been revealed!

The Top 13 for season 11 of American Idol have been announced.
From 25 semi-finalists (12 girls, 13 guys), 5 girls and 5 boys were chosen as finalists based on the 33 million combined votes from the televiewers last Wednesday and Thursday. To complete the Top 13, the judges picked 3 from 6 wild cards who performed during the results show.

‘UnOfficially Yours’ Grosses P113.58-M in 2 Weeks

Star Cinema’s romantic dramedy “UnOfficially Yours” had a two-week box office gross of P113.58 million. “Hitman” starring Cesar Montano earned P3.78 million in 5 days (opening).

“UnOfficially Yours” starring Angel Locsin and John Lloyd Cruz topped Philippine box office on its 2nd consecutive week of screening. The stint made the Star Cinema movie the first Pinoy movie of 2012 to lead in the local box office race. It also bagged the distinction of being the first Pinoy movie for 2012 to surpass the P100 million mark.
Meanwhile, Cesar Montano‘s “Hitman” debuted at no. 6 last weekend with P3.78-M gross (first 5 days).
